Welcome to our Kin!

Together, Katie and Brieana are Solas & Kin Photography. Solas, meaning "Light" in Irish, and Kin, meaning "Family". While coming up with the name Solas & Kin, Katie and Brieana thought about the things that mean the most to them.

Light is the very essence of photography, and without family, they wouldn't be who they are.

What is it about photography that they love so much? The story behind the image. It is the intimate moments and emotions in their photographs that show clients that they love what they do. Clients Katie and Brieana have had the privilege of working with, very quickly go from "Client" to Kin, our family.

Solas & Kin Photography came to be through the start of a great friendship. With Katie and Brieana each owning their own businesses, they collectively have over 20 years of photography experience. (Yes.. one of them is that old... )

Hey there, Katie!

Katie has been a photographer for over 17 years. Prior to doing it professionally, photography was always a part of her life. In 8th grade her Uncle George gave her a Fujica ST705 film camera and flash, her first camera ever. He also gave her the nick name "F-Stop". After high school, Katie decided to join the military as a photographer. Needless to say, that lead her to some exciting adventures and experiences which only deepened her obsession. Her other love beyond photography, is her family. She has been married for over 13 years to her all-American dairy farmer, and together, they have three tractor driving, dirt loving, totally amazing boys, hundreds of dairy cows and fur babies galore!

Hellooo Brieana!

Brieana has been a photographer for nine years now. She found her love for photography when she took a film class her senior year of high school. After graduating, she knew she wanted to make photography a career, so she applied for the photography program at Madison College. There, she learned so many amazing things and met so many amazing people. After two years, she was able to graduate with her associate's in Applied Arts. Aside from photography, her family is also her rock. She has been married to the love of her life for a five years now! They have two kids running around and two little fur babies, always keeping them busy and on their toes!

PHOTOGRAPHY IS A WAY OF FEELING, OF TOUCHING, OF LOVING. WHAT YOU HAVE CAUGHT ON FILM IS CAPTURED FOREVER... IT REMEMBERS LITTLE THINGS, LONG AFTER YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN EVERYTHING.
